五月十二日 Google Searchology Event 宣佈了這個月尾將推出一項名為 Google Squared (會於 Google Labs 裡出現, 到時網址暫定會是 www.google.com/squared)。

這是什麼來的？看看以下吧！

主版面是用上 ‘Sqaure it’ 做 Submit button

當輸入 ‘small dog’ 然後按 ‘Square it’, 結果頁面會出現以下

以上所見，畫面顯示各款狗仔的名字、相片、介紹、甚至體重及身高都有提供給用戶。

Google 是希望 search result 除了顯示一系列的網站外，還想直接帶出更多更有用的資訊給用戶。試想想，如果你在 Google Squared 搜尋相機的資訊，系統就會按照不同相機的型號，列出相片、各種參數及價格等，這會是很方便的途徑給你作一個橫向比較，而且，這些資訊都不是透過其他攝影網站做的比較結果，而是透過 Google 本身搜尋得來的比較。

畢竟，步入了這個資訊年代，正如 Google 的 Mission 所言，是要整理這個世界的資訊而且將之成為無遠弗屆及有用的資訊 (to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful)。現在，Google 又踏出了一大步！
